Whats new in 2012?
2011 has been a good year for aid transparency and a good year for OpenAid. We want to make 2012 an even better year! We want to move beyond preaching aid transparency. Instead we want to really see it happening - in Germany, in other donor countries and most of all for citizens in developing countries. There are discussions and plans in the pipeline and we hope to be able to share interesting news soon. We hope that by the end of this year we will see a better coordination and sharing of knowledge and experience among open data and aid transparency activists. We also want to start with our long coveted idea of creating online communities around individual projects. If these two projects interest you, please get in touch.
There will be other changes in 2012 - also regarding the OpenAid Association. We will publish more information regarding our association soon. In the next 12 month we hope to become more effective in promoting aid transparency and open data. We are always happy about new supporters!
For the start of the new year we have also revamped our website - big thanks to Björn Johansson! The main changes are that we will not have different activity pages anymore but just one news page. Also, it is no longer possible to log onto the website. Of course it is still possible to comment on blog posts. If you are interested in crossposting a text, please get in touch.
Do you think our work has been worthwhile? Not only development work, also advocacy work needs feedback! Please let us know what you like and what you do not like about OpenAid. Do you have any suggestions on what we should do better or differently or stop doing? Please let us know!
Finally, thanks for following our work! Thanks to all those who have collaborated with us in 2011! And a very late Happy New Year to all of you!
