European Transparency Initiative

In November 2005 the European Transparency Initiative was launched by the EU. Central element of the initiative is the Greenbook, a policy document on a public consultation process on transparency. This public consultation process realised in 2006 allowed all stakeholders in Europe to express their views on three key issues: lobbying of interest groups within the EU, the framework of standards for the consultation process itself and the publication of recipients of EU funds.
