IATI standard launches support site
Today IATI have launched their standard's support site. This eagerly awaited site complements the IATI Standard website, offering users the chance to ask the IATI community questions. If you haven’t already heard about the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), or the standard, you can catch up here. There's already been a surge of interest in the support site, which enables you to ask questions on any aspect of publishing to IATI or using IATI-formatted data. You can also offer suggestions for improving the standard, along with any new ideas you might have for how IATI data can be analysed or made into funky visualisations.Once you’ve asked a question, you'll be sent a confirmation email and a ticket number. You can use your ticket number to track the progress of your question or to follow up on the site.To get started, you’ll need to quickly register with the site. You’ll then be able to post questions and ideas in the Knowledge Base area. If you want to start a discussion you can post a new topic here too.Knowledge BaseThe Knowledge Base acts as a complementary manual to the main IATI standard site. Here you can search through news, queries, ideas and discussions relating to the standard. This content is still being developed, so bear this in mind when browsing and feel free to offer any suggestions you might have for improving this area. Once your questions have been answered, the IATI support desk will post the information to the Knowledge Base so that others can benefit from your query. To get a feel for all of this you can visit the Knowledge Base first, which you can browse without having registered. And you can still email your query; just click on the blue support tab on the right hand side of the IATI Standard home page, or contact %20support
iatistandard [dot] org and a ticket will automatically be opened up for you on the help desk. This site should be pretty useful, and as it’s there to offer support and clarification on the standard, the more you use it the more you’ll benefit, in addition to helping future users.Enjoy!
