Somebody said mergers are a sign of consolidation and maturity. We do not know if that is true, but the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany and OpenAid will merge! 2011 has been a good year for aid transparency and a good year for OpenAid. We want to make 2012 an even better year! We want to move beyond preaching aid transparency. Instead we want to really see it happening - in Germany, in other donor countries and most of all for citizens in developing countries. There are discussions and plans in the pipeline and we hope to be able to share interesting news soon. We hope that by the end of this year we will see a better coordination and sharing of knowledge and experience among open data and aid transparency activists. Read more »
In 2011 OpenAid will continue to offer presentations on aid transparency. As in 2010 we plan to share information about the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and also address specific issues related to aid transparency: corruption, the potential of internet and mobile services, feedback processes at project level and transparency in non-governmental organisations.
