OpenAid believes that aid transparency is a crucial element of better service delivery in development cooperation. Therefore we strongly support the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) that aims to provide accessible, standardised, up-to-date, detailed and open data about development cooperation.

In July 2010 the first part of the data standard IATI  was agreed upon by the IATI Steering committee. The standard comprises information types such as identifiers for donor organisations, implementating and recipient organisations within the aid system, annual forward planning budget data and aid types. The full standard for the first phase can be seen in the document below. More information is available at the IATI website for the standard.
